The
Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), in
collaboration with the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control
(ECDC), has convened the Africa Epidemic Service (AES) Documentation Workshop
in Nairobi, Kenya.
The
workshop brought together experts and partner organizations to strengthen the
documentation of field deployments and to ensure that lessons learned are
effectively translated into improved epidemic preparedness across the
continent.

During
the event, participants reviewed the AES programme cycle, identified gaps in
documentation, and reinforced mechanisms for learning and accountability to
enhance the effectiveness of epidemic response efforts in Africa.
Organizers
noted that the workshop is part of ongoing efforts to build a more resilient
public health system by improving the collection, analysis, and dissemination
of operational knowledge from epidemic response activities.
