The
Governor of the National Bank of Ethiopia, Job Tekele, has paid a working visit
to the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute to gain first-hand insight
into the institute’s technological activities and ongoing innovation
initiatives.

During
the visit, the Director General of the institute, Werku Gachena, provided an
overview of the organisation’s work, highlighting its technological programmes
and broader efforts aimed at advancing artificial intelligence development in
Ethiopia.
Dr.
Gachena also outlined the institute’s strategic vision and the role it is
playing in supporting the country’s digital transformation through research,
innovation and the development of AI-driven solutions.
As
part of the visit, Dr. Tekele toured several facilities within the institute,
including the product showroom, robotics workshop, AI startup section and the
AI Unipod, where various innovations and projects under development were
showcased.

The
Governor expressed encouragement at the technological achievements of the
institute and commended the progress being made toward advancing artificial
intelligence capabilities in the country.
