The
Rwanda Information Society Authority (RISA) has led celebrations of Digital
Public Infrastructure Day in Rwanda, bringing together stakeholders from
government, the private sector and civil society to examine the role of digital
public infrastructure in shaping the country’s digital future.

In
his opening remarks, RISA Chief Executive Officer Antoine Sebera described
digital public infrastructure as a foundational element of the digital economy,
comparing its importance to essential public utilities that enable services and
innovation to flourish.
A
panel discussion held under the theme “Understanding Digital Public
Infrastructure and Rwanda’s Direction” explored the country’s progress in
developing secure and interoperable digital systems that support services
ranging from digital identification to electronic payments. Participants noted
that these systems are helping deliver faster and more connected public
services while strengthening financial inclusion and innovation.

Speaking
at the event, Yves N. Iradukunda, Minister of State at the Ministry of ICT and
Innovation Rwanda, emphasized the importance of collaboration in building and
maintaining digital infrastructure that remains open, secure and responsive to
citizens’ needs.
Jean
Bosco Iyacu, Chief Executive Officer of Access to Finance Rwanda, highlighted
