The West African Science Service Centre on Climate Change and Adapted Land Use (WASCAL) has hosted a delegation from the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute (KEITI) at its headquarters in Ghana to discuss potential areas of cooperation on environmental sustainability initiatives.

The KEITI delegation was led by Hong Seok Kim, Chief Representative of the institute’s Ghana Office, and included Persis Osei Kusi, Project Lead at the office.

Discussions during the meeting focused on opportunities for collaboration in areas such as waste-to-energy development, water supply systems and smart water management solutions aimed at addressing environmental and infrastructure challenges in the region.

Participants also highlighted KEITI’s support for pre-feasibility studies as a key entry point for developing environmentally sustainable projects with the potential for large-scale impact.

The meeting further emphasized the importance of strengthened collaboration among public institutions, private-sector stakeholders, local experts and development partners in advancing practical and scalable environmental solutions that respond to regional needs.

Officials noted that the engagement represents a step toward strengthening cooperation between WASCAL and KEITI while opening new pathways for partnerships that support sustainable development initiatives across West Africa.
