Google
has completed its acquisition of Wiz in a move aimed at strengthening the
cybersecurity capabilities of Google Cloud as organizations face a growing
number of cyber threats.
The
announcement was made by Google Cloud Chief Executive Officer Thomas Kurian,
who said the integration of Wiz will enhance the company’s security portfolio
and support businesses seeking to protect their cloud and artificial
intelligence applications.
Wiz
provides a cloud security platform that enables organizations to secure cloud
and AI environments by linking code, cloud infrastructure and runtime
environments into a unified system. The platform allows users to identify
vulnerabilities, strengthen security configurations and continuously protect
applications from potential threats.
Following
the acquisition, Google plans to combine its threat intelligence and security
operations capabilities with Wiz’s cloud and AI security platform to create an
integrated, AI-powered cybersecurity solution. The combined platform is
expected to help organizations detect, prevent and respond to cyber threats
across multiple environments while supporting continued innovation in cloud
computing and artificial intelligence.
