The
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nigerian Communications
Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT), Jane Egerton-Idehen, has led a delegation on a
courtesy visit to Christopher Gwabin Musa, Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, to
discuss the role of indigenous satellite technology in strengthening national
security.

The
meeting focused on issues related to national sovereignty and the strategic
importance of leveraging locally developed satellite infrastructure to support
secure communications for the country’s defence sector.
During
the engagement, the Defence Minister highlighted the importance of reliable
satellite communications in modern security operations and emphasized the role
of NIGCOMSAT as a trusted partner for Nigeria’s defence institutions.
Discussions
also underscored the need for continued investment in homegrown satellite
capabilities to enhance secure connectivity and support the country’s broader
security architecture.

Officials
noted that strengthening indigenous satellite infrastructure remains a key
component in safeguarding national interests while enabling dependable
communication services across Nigeria.
