The
Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has hosted a delegation of Australian Federal
Police (AFP) Liaison Officers responsible for Sub-Saharan Africa to discuss
collaborative measures to combat cybercrime affecting both nations.
The
AFP officers acknowledged CSA’s leadership in regional cybersecurity and
expressed interest in partnering with the Authority and other law enforcement
agencies to address emerging threats, including Business Email Compromise,
romance scams, sextortion, and increasing incidents of child online
exploitation and abuse.
Acting
Director-General of the CSA, Mr. Divine Selase Agbeti, welcomed the
discussions, highlighting the Authority’s commitment to working with local and
international partners to strengthen cyber threat response.
During
the meeting, both parties identified key areas for collaboration, including the
potential establishment of agreements for cyber-related information and
intelligence sharing to enhance cross-border cybersecurity efforts.
