A
delegation from the Central Bank of the Republic of Somaliland, led by Deputy
Governor Hamse Abdirahman Khayre, has participated in the Inclusive Fintech
Forum 2026 held in Kigali, Rwanda.
The
global forum brought together more than 3,000 delegates from over 80 countries
to discuss financial innovation, payment systems modernization, and strategies
for advancing inclusive digital finance.

During
the event, the Somaliland delegation engaged with international stakeholders to
explore opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange in the
development of financial technology and digital payment ecosystems.
Discussions
also focused on strengthening Somaliland’s national payment systems and
improving financial infrastructure to support broader financial inclusion and
sustainable economic growth.

Officials
said the engagement forms part of efforts by the Central Bank of the Republic
of Somaliland to learn from global fintech developments and adopt innovative
solutions that can enhance the country’s financial sector and digital economy.
