Rwanda Space Agency CEO calls for strong partnerships to support sustainable space sector

The Chief Executive Officer of the Rwanda Space Agency, Gaspard Twagirayezu, has emphasized the importance of collaboration among governments, industry and international initiatives to support sustainable growth in the global space sector.

Twagirayezu made the remarks during the CEO Roundtable at the Sustainable Market Initiative Roundtables & Exhibition 2026 held at Hampton Court Palace in the United Kingdom.

Speaking at the event, the Rwanda Space Agency chief highlighted that building a resilient and sustainable space ecosystem requires coordinated efforts among stakeholders to promote innovation while ensuring responsible stewardship of the environment.

He noted that partnerships between governments, private industry and global organisations are essential for advancing technological innovation in the space sector while protecting shared environmental resources.

The roundtable formed part of broader discussions at the Sustainable Market Initiative event, which brought together global leaders and industry stakeholders to explore strategies for advancing sustainable development across emerging sectors, including space technologies.
