The
Government of Malaysia has launched a new
artificial intelligence standards initiative, the MY-AI Standards Initiative,
designed to support trusted AI governance and advance the country’s AI Nation
2030 vision. The platform provides central access to more than 80 global ISO/IEC
AI standards and was developed through collaboration between the National AI
Office Malaysia (NAIO), CyberSecurity Malaysia, and the Department of Standards
Malaysia (DSM), in partnership with the International Organization for
Standardization (ISO).

The launch follows discussions between Cindy Parokkil and Malaysia’s Minister of
Digital, Gobind Singh Deo, highlighting
the importance of international standards in building trust, interoperability,
and effective governance for AI systems.
The
initiative is intended as a one-stop platform for resources, awareness, and
capacity building, supporting a wide range of stakeholders in policy design,
governance, compliance, and market access.
Officials
noted that the MY-AI Standards Initiative exemplifies how standards-based
capacity building can translate international dialogue into practical national
action.
