Senegal’s
President Bassirou Diomaye Faye has held discussions with pharmaceutical
company Roche on potential collaboration
to enhance cancer care and strengthen the country’s health system.

During an official audience, the President of Senegal
met with Eugene Nwoke, Managing Director
of Roche for French-speaking Africa, alongside Souleymane
Mboup and a delegation from the company.
Talks focused on opportunities to develop a
comprehensive approach to cancer management, spanning prevention, diagnosis,
and treatment. The proposed collaboration also includes a strong emphasis on
capacity building and the training of healthcare professionals.

Officials
indicated that the partnership aligns with Senegal’s broader objective of
building a more efficient, accessible, and patient-centered healthcare system
capable of addressing the evolving needs of its population.
