Konza Technopolis has concluded the second edition of
its staff one-day hackathon, Konza Pamoja, bringing together employees to
develop innovative solutions aligned with the Authority’s strategic priorities.
Held under the theme “Konza Forward: Innovation Meets
Collaboration,” the hackathon focused on key areas including investment
attraction, smart city compliance, sustainability, community engagement, and
innovation-driven development. The initiative aimed to harness internal talent
and promote teamwork in advancing the vision of positioning Konza as Africa’s
Silicon Savannah.

The event received support from the Authority’s
leadership, including Chief Executive Officer John
Paul Okwiri, with management commending staff for their creativity and
collaborative efforts in generating ideas to support Kenya’s Vision 2030
development agenda.
Three teams emerged as top
performers, with Tech Brain Inc securing first place, followed by Efficiency
Elite in second position and Bot Squad in third.

Organisers
noted that the hackathon reflects Konza Technopolis’ commitment to fostering a
culture of innovation and collaboration, as it continues to develop solutions
aimed at enhancing its competitiveness as a smart city with national and
regional impact.
