Ericsson has hosted senior U.S. government officials at its 5G Smart Factory in Texas, highlighting efforts to strengthen the country’s technology leadership and infrastructure resilience.

Among the visiting delegation was Jacob Helberg, Under Secretary of State, who toured the highly automated facility in Lewisville. The 300,000-square-foot site manufactures 5G radios and basebands used to power networks across the United States.

The facility, which employs more than 550 people, is currently the largest manufacturer of 5G infrastructure in the country and plays a key role in supporting secure and resilient digital networks.

Ericsson said the plant is central to advancing domestic production capabilities, with equipment produced in Texas deployed nationwide. The company also indicated that future developments will include 6G technologies as part of ongoing efforts to maintain U.S. competitiveness in next-generation connectivity.
