Safaricom Ethiopia Foundation has donated 1,225 reference books valued at 500,000 birr to three secondary schools in Bule Hora City, as part of efforts to support education and promote literacy.

The beneficiary schools include Bariso Dukale, Bule Hora, and Mulata Gudina Secondary Schools, where the books are expected to enhance learning resources and improve students’ academic performance.

Safaricom Ethiopia’s Regional Acquisition Manager, Wegene Teshome Abebe, emphasized the importance of access to educational materials, noting that reference books play a critical role in building reading culture, supporting exam preparation, and encouraging critical thinking among students.

Head of the Education Bureau, Tesfaye Chibsa, welcomed the initiative, stating that the contribution would strengthen learning outcomes by helping students expand their knowledge and better prepare for examinations.

The donation forms part of Safaricom Ethiopia Foundation’s broader commitment to education and community development in areas where the company operates.
