Safaricom Ethiopia
Foundation has donated 1,225 reference books valued at 500,000 birr to three
secondary schools in Bule Hora City, as part of efforts to support education
and promote literacy.
The beneficiary schools
include Bariso Dukale, Bule Hora, and Mulata Gudina Secondary Schools, where
the books are expected to enhance learning resources and improve students’
academic performance.

Safaricom Ethiopia’s
Regional Acquisition Manager, Wegene Teshome Abebe, emphasized the importance
of access to educational materials, noting that reference books play a critical
role in building reading culture, supporting exam preparation, and encouraging
critical thinking among students.
Head of the Education
Bureau, Tesfaye Chibsa, welcomed the initiative, stating that the contribution
would strengthen learning outcomes by helping students expand their knowledge
and better prepare for examinations.
The donation forms part of
Safaricom Ethiopia Foundation’s broader commitment to education and community
development in areas where the company operates.
