The Communications
Regulators’ Association of Southern Africa (CRASA) has announced the
appointment of Mr. Mayamiko Nkoloma of Malawi as its new Chairperson.
The appointment comes as the
regional body continues efforts to strengthen regulatory cooperation and deepen
collaboration among member states across Southern Africa’s ICT and postal
sectors.
In his new role, Mr. Nkoloma
is expected to guide the strategic direction of the association and support
ongoing initiatives aimed at harmonising regulatory frameworks, improving
policy alignment, and promoting innovation within the sector.
CRASA noted that the
leadership transition takes place at a critical time for the region, as
countries work to modernise digital and communications regulation in response
to rapid technological change.
The association expressed
confidence that the new Chairperson will contribute to strengthening
coordination among regulators and advancing regional integration in the ICT
space.
Members and stakeholders
have been invited to congratulate Mr. Nkoloma on his appointment as he assumes
the leadership role.
