The
Autorité de Régulation des Télécommunications/TIC de Côte d’Ivoire (ARTCI) has
officially launched CERTINUM, a new digital platform designed to streamline
compliance and authorization processes related to the processing of personal
data.
The
launch marks a significant step in the digitization of regulatory services in
Côte d’Ivoire, aimed at improving efficiency, transparency and accessibility
for public institutions and sector professionals handling personal data.
CERTINUM
is expected to modernize how compliance requests and authorizations are managed
by enabling fully digital, paperless procedures that reduce processing delays
and improve oversight of personal data governance.
The
ceremony was attended by senior government officials and regulatory
stakeholders, including representatives of the Ministry of Digital Transition
and Technological Innovation, as well as members of the regulatory council
overseeing ICT governance in the country.
Officials
noted that the platform aligns with national efforts to strengthen digital
governance frameworks while ensuring better protection and management of
personal data in an increasingly digital economy.
The
initiative reflects a broader push by Côte d’Ivoire to modernize regulatory
institutions and support a more efficient digital ecosystem, where compliance
processes are simplified through technology and aligned with international best
practices in data protection and digital administration.
With
the launch of CERTINUM, ARTCI said it aims to make compliance for personal data
processing more accessible, faster and fully digital, reinforcing its mandate
to regulate and support the country’s evolving information and communications
technology sector.
