Côte d’Ivoire has presented
its digital transformation roadmap to the leadership of the International
Telecommunication Union (ITU), outlining the country’s ambition to position
itself as a leading digital hub in West Africa.
Minister of Digital
Transition and Technological Innovation, Djibril Ouattara, held discussions
with the Deputy Secretary-General of ITU, Tomas Lamanauskas, where he shared
Côte d’Ivoire’s strategic vision for advancing its digital economy.
During the meeting, the
Minister presented the country’s roadmap built around seven key pillars and 40
priority projects aimed at accelerating digital transformation, strengthening
infrastructure, promoting innovation and improving digital inclusion.
The roadmap forms part of
Côte d’Ivoire’s broader strategy to become a sub-regional digital hub by
leveraging emerging technologies, expanding connectivity and creating an
enabling environment for digital businesses and services.
The ITU leadership commended
Côte d’Ivoire’s vision and efforts to advance digital development, recognising
the importance of national strategies that contribute to Africa’s wider digital
transformation agenda.
