MTN Cameroon has
participated in the closing ceremony of Digital Innovation Week 2026, an
initiative organised by the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications under the
leadership of Minister Minette Libom Li Likeng to promote innovation and
digital entrepreneurship in Cameroon.
The event brought together
technology innovators, industry stakeholders, government representatives, and
young entrepreneurs as part of efforts to accelerate the country’s digital
transformation agenda.
Out of 631 applications
received for the innovation competition, 20 finalists were selected by a jury
chaired by Ms. Tahiry Rakotoheriniana, International Telecommunication Union
(ITU) Representative for Central Africa and Madagascar, to compete for prizes
valued at more than FCFA 50 million.
The finalists presented
digital solutions aimed at addressing various challenges and contributing to
Cameroon’s growing technology ecosystem.
MTN Cameroon’s participation
in the programme highlights the company’s continued support for innovation,
entrepreneurship, and the development of local digital talent.
The telecommunications
operator said its involvement reflects its commitment to working alongside the
government and other stakeholders to advance digital transformation and create
opportunities for young innovators shaping Cameroon’s technology future.
Digital Innovation Week 2026
forms part of broader national efforts to encourage the adoption of digital
solutions, strengthen innovation capacity, and position young technology
entrepreneurs as key contributors to Cameroon’s digital economy.
