Kenya’s Ministry of
Information, Communications and the Digital Economy has held discussions with
Ambassador Dr. Jendayi Frazer and her delegation on a potential strategic
partnership focused on youth skilling, digital capacity building and
sustainable employment.
The meeting was hosted by
Principal Secretary for the State Department of ICT and Digital Economy, Eng.
John Kipchumba Tanui, at the Ministry of Information, Communications and the
Digital Economy.
Dr. Frazer is the Peter J.
and Frances Duignan Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Hoover Institution at
Stanford University.
The discussions centred on
exploring opportunities for collaboration to strengthen youth skills, build
digital capacity and create sustainable employment frameworks as Kenya
continues to advance its digital economy agenda.
According to Tanui, the
proposed partnership is expected to support efforts to align Kenya’s digital
economy master plan with world-class expertise and expand technology
opportunities for young people.
Through stronger
partnerships and investment in digital skills development, the Ministry aims to
equip more young people with the capabilities required to access
technology-driven opportunities and contribute to the country’s digital
transformation.
