The Technopolis Development Authority and KCB Bank Kenya have explored potential areas of collaboration aimed at strengthening the growing Konza Technopolis ecosystem and supporting Kenya’s digital transformation agenda.

The discussions followed a courtesy visit by Technopolis Development Authority Chairman of the Board, Hon. Abdul Bahari, to KCB Bank Kenya Managing Director, Annastacia Kimtai. The Chairman was accompanied by the Authority’s Chief Executive Officer, John Paul Okwiri.

The engagement focused on opportunities to support the training and certification of the workforce within Konza Technopolis, with the aim of strengthening the skills needed to support the development of the smart city and its emerging technology ecosystem.

The two institutions also discussed the potential establishment of a KCB Bank presence at Konza Technopolis, which could expand access to banking and financial services for businesses, workers and other stakeholders within the development.

Other areas of mutual interest aligned with Kenya’s broader digital transformation agenda were also considered during the meeting.

The Technopolis Development Authority said the engagement provided an opportunity to identify practical areas where collaboration between the financial sector and the smart city could support investment, workforce development and ecosystem growth.

The Authority expressed its intention to translate the discussions into partnerships that create new opportunities and contribute to the continued development of Konza Technopolis.
