Kenya and
Canada have discussed opportunities to advance cooperation in critical and
emerging technologies, the AI Middle Powers initiative and the Trust Summit
during a meeting between Kenya’s Special Envoy on Technology, Ambassador Philip
Thigo, and Canada’s High Commissioner to Kenya, H.E. Joshua Tabah.
Thigo said
the meeting with Tabah and his team also examined existing Kenya–Canada
cooperation, including in research, as well as Nairobi’s role as a diplomatic
hub.
The
discussions further considered the broader role of business, research and
innovation, including companies such as Cohere, in strengthening collaboration
between the two countries.
Thigo said
the next steps would be guided by Principal Secretaries Dr. Singoei and Prof.
Shaukat as both sides look to advance their cooperation in science, technology
and multilateralism.
