Labour law experts, government representatives, academics, business leaders and health professionals have gathered at the University of Ghana, Legon, for the Ghana Health & Labour Summit 2026 to discuss ways to address Ghana’s talent retention crisis.

The summit was held under the theme “Work & Wellness – Fixing Ghana's Talent Retention Crisis” and focused on the question of how Ghana can retain its talent.

Zeinab Ayariga, President and Co-convenor of the Labour Law Society of Ghana (LLSG), said she had the privilege of speaking at the summit, where she contributed a labour law perspective to discussions on worker well-being and talent retention.

“Retaining talent is not only a management challenge. It depends on how we regulate work, protect workers and safeguard their well-being, and the law has a central role to play in each of these,” Ayariga said in a LinkedIn post.

She also expressed pride in the Labour Law Society of Ghana’s participation as an official partner of the summit and thanked colleagues who joined the discussions and shared their insights.

Ayariga acknowledged MentaPulse Africa, the University of Ghana Business School, the Ministry of Labour, Jobs and Employment, Telecel Ghana, as well as other sponsors and partners, for the invitation and for convening the event.

She said discussions on talent retention would continue through research, policy engagement and the work of the Labour Law Society of Ghana.
