Djibouti’s Ministry Delegate
in charge of Digital Economy and Innovation (MDENI) has held discussions with
the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on prospects for collaboration
to strengthen the country’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, promote innovation and
support job creation.
The discussions took place
during a meeting between Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Economy and
Innovation, Safia Mohamed Ali Gadileh, and Alessandra Roccasalvo,
representative of the UNDP, at the ministry. The meeting was attended by the
minister’s adviser, Soubaneh Moussa Djibril.
The discussions focused on
the role of the Center for Leadership and Entrepreneurship (CLE) in supporting
entrepreneurs, promoting innovation and developing entrepreneurial initiatives.
According to the ministry,
the meeting reflected a shared desire to consolidate institutional partnerships
and create new opportunities for entrepreneurs, young people and project
leaders.
The engagement forms part of
efforts to combine institutional expertise and resources to strengthen
entrepreneurship and innovation as drivers of economic development and
employment in Djibouti.
“By combining efforts and
expertise, we are pursuing a common goal: to make entrepreneurship and
innovation essential levers for economic development and job creation in
Djibouti,” the ministry said.
