Mozambique’s government has
highlighted the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve the
efficiency of Public Administration and bring public services closer to
citizens.
The position was presented
on Thursday, October 29, in Maputo by the Minister of Communications and
Digital Transformation, Américo Muchanga, during the opening session of the “AI
for Governance” workshop, dedicated to the practical application of artificial
intelligence in governance.
In his speech, Muchanga said
artificial intelligence was no longer a promise of the future and was already
transforming sectors such as education, health, science and the administration
of organisations.
In Public Administration, he
highlighted the potential of AI tools to analyse large volumes of information,
prepare documents more quickly, support the formulation of public policies and
reduce delays in delivering services to citizens.
The minister’s remarks
placed the practical application of artificial intelligence in government at
the centre of discussions on improving administrative efficiency and making
public services more responsive to citizens’ needs.
