Morocco and Mauritania are
strengthening their digital cooperation following a working visit by a
delegation from Mauritania’s State Digital Agency (AN-ETAT) to Morocco’s
Digital Development Agency (ADD) in Rabat.
The ADD received Thierno
Baro, Director General of AN-ETAT, who led the Mauritanian delegation during
the visit, which aimed to advance cooperation between the two countries in
digital transformation.
The visit gives concrete
expression to the partnership signed by the two institutions, based on a shared
conviction that digital technology is a powerful lever for inclusion and
socio-economic development.
Discussions focused on the
issues, challenges and major projects shaping the digital transformation of
both countries. The Mauritanian delegation also learned about the ADD’s main
services and platforms, including its work on interoperability, the catalogue
of shared solutions and the national open data portal, Data.gov.ma.
Other platforms presented
included Academia Raqmya, which is dedicated to strengthening digital skills;
Mokawala Raqmya, which supports companies; and E-Himaya, which raises awareness
of the responsible use of digital technology.
The exchanges enabled both
agencies to cross-reference experiences, inform their respective reflections
and promote the transfer of know-how. They also laid the groundwork for joint
structuring projects for the benefit of administrations and citizens in both
countries.
The ADD reaffirmed its
commitment to South-South digital cooperation and solidarity with its partners.
