Accra, Ghana - The Israel Trade and Economic Mission to Ghana have launched a program
to support local Agricultural Technology startups in Ghana to enhance their capacity.
In partnership with Innhohub and the Pears Program for Global Innovation, the program which is expected to commence in July this year also seeks to grow
Ghanaian Agritech Startups to further develop and refine their product technologies
in order to boost their Agricultural economy.
Speaking during the official launch of the program in Accra, the
Israeli Ambassador to Ghana, Shlomit Sufa disclosed that the program would enable
participants to build on their technologies by connecting them to relevant tech
experts from Israel for advisory support.
According to her during the program, participating startups
would pitch their businesses to an expert panel composed of an investment
consultant, an Agritech specialist, a fund manager, and key ecosystem players
and potential investors.
The participants will benefit from a tailored product building,
coaching from Israeli tech experts, and Ghanaian coaches with high-level
workshops on product fit, product architecture, user experience, and manufacturing
development, she stressed.
The Israeli government according
to Mrs. Sufa, would continue to support Ghana’s agriculture sector, especially in
greenhouse Agriculture technology.
“As an embassy, the agriculture sector has been one of the key
sectors that we operate mainly, highlighting and connecting the Ghanaian
agricultural sector to that of Israel, she added.
