Starlink, the global satellite
internet provider, has officially authorized TD Africa, one of Nigeria's premier
technology dealers to distribute Starlink Kits in Nigeria.
Starlink, engineered and operated by
SpaceX, stands out as the world's first and largest satellite constellation
using a low Earth orbit. With its ability to deliver high-speed, low-latency
internet globally, Starlink has become a game-changer for users in underserved
or unreached locations, offering quality and cost-effective internet access for
homes, businesses, and individuals alike.
With an impressive customer base of
2.3 million by the end of 2023 and a presence in over 70 countries, Starlink
has proven itself as a transformative force since its inaugural orbital
satellite launch in 2019.
TD Africa, with over 24 years of
experience, is the pioneer and largest technology and lifestyle distributor in
Africa, representing more than 27 global companies, including Microsoft, IBM,
Apple, Cisco, and others. The distribution powerhouse has a formidable presence
in 47 African countries as Microsoft's Cloud Solution Provider, showcasing its
extensive reach and influence.
Mrs. Chioma Chimere, TD Africa's
Coordinating Managing Director, expressed excitement about the growth
opportunities that this partnership presents across the continent, stressing TD
Africa's mission to provide accessible, affordable, and usable internet
solutions to individuals and businesses alike.
Despite facing
opposition from several African governments, such as Ghana and South Africa,
who have banned Starlink's operations within their territories, TD Africa
boldly joins other distributors, including Paratus Africa and additional
agents, to distribute Starlink Kits.
