The Executive
Officer of MTN South Sudan, Monzer Ali, has reiterated MTN South Sudan's
dedication to collaborating with the government to connect remote and
underserved regions with quality telecommunication services.
According
to him, through the Universal Service and Access Fund MTN South Sudan will support
the government's initiatives in connecting unconnected areas.
Speaking
during a courtesy visit to the National Minister of ICT and Postal Services,
Michael Lueth, in Juba Mr. Ali said the fund plays a vital role in bridging the
digital divide by extending telecommunication services to underserved
communities, thereby promoting inclusivity and socio-economic development.
He also took
the opportunity to discuss MTN’s readiness to support the forthcoming first
elections scheduled for December 2024, outlining MTN's plans to ensure the
provision of reliable and accessible communication services in preparation for
the historic event.
The visit
is part of the new CEO’s familiarization tour after assuming his new role earlier
this month.
