MTN South Sudan launches ICT Lab to promote women's empowerment and digital inclusion

MTN South Sudan has officially launched an ICT Lab at the South Sudan Women Entrepreneurs Association (SWEA) Headquarters as part of efforts to promote women's empowerment and digital inclusion.

This initiative, under MTN's Corporate Social Investment program, aims to support women entrepreneurs in the region and contribute to the growth of the digital economy in South Sudan.

The official launch was attended by MTN CEO Monzer Ali, Executive Director of SWEA Jane Gordon, and NCA Director of Corporate Affairs Dr. Margrate Labanya. The ICT lab is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and will provide women entrepreneurs with access to digital tools, training, and resources to enhance their businesses and skills.

Speaking during the launch, the Chief Executive Officer of MTN South Sudan, Monzer Ali noted that MTN has been at the forefront of promoting women's inclusion in the tech industry, recognizing the critical role they play in driving economic growth and development.

According to him, the company has implemented various programs aimed at fostering digital innovation and entrepreneurship, including entrepreneurship training, digital job creation, and digital skills training.

“These initiatives align with MTN's commitment to supporting national priority projects in health and education through ICT. By empowering women entrepreneurs and promoting digital inclusion, MTN South Sudan is contributing to the country's economic growth and social development,” he said.
