The President & CEO
of MTN Group, Ralph Mupita has been honored with the coveted 'CEO of the Year'
award at the Africa CEO Forum held in Kigali. Conferred by a cross-disciplinary
panel, the ‘CEO of the Year’ award recognizes an African CEO for ‘exceptional
achievements’ and ‘extraordinary leadership’.
Since assuming the helm
of Africa's leading mobile operator in September 2020, Mupita has been
instrumental in driving MTN's Ambition 2025 strategy. This initiative is
dedicated to 'Leading digital solutions for Africa's progress,' enhancing
digital connectivity and innovation across the continent.
In his acceptance speech,
Mupita expressed gratitude to MTN employees, affectionately referred to as
'MTNers,' for their unwavering dedication and hard work. He also acknowledged
the remarkable contributions of fellow nominees, Coris Holdings CEO Nassa
Idrissa and Dangote Industries President & CEO Aliko Dangote.
"This
award is a testament to the collective effort and commitment of the entire MTN
family," Mupita remarked. "I am deeply honored to be recognized among
such esteemed peers who are all champions of Africa's growth and
development."
Under Mupita's
leadership, MTN has made significant strides in expanding its digital
infrastructure and services, playing a pivotal role in driving economic growth
and inclusion across Africa. His vision and strategic direction continue to
position MTN as a key player in the continent's digital transformation journey.

premier event celebrating leadership excellence and fostering dialogue among
top executives driving Africa's economic renaissance.
