MTN
Fintech, a subsidiary of MTN South Sudan and a member of the MTN Group has announced
the launch of its International Money Remittance service. This innovative
solution enables customers to send and receive money across borders,
conveniently through Mobile Money (MoMo).
With
this service, customers can now send money to Uganda and Kenya, with plans to
expand to more countries soon. Additionally, customers can receive money from
anywhere in the world, including North and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa,
and Australia.
To send
money, customers simply dial *200#, select "Send Money," then
"International Money Remittance," and follow the prompts. To receive
money, customers will receive an SMS notification with details of the amount,
and their mobile money wallet will be credited with the funds.
This
service is a significant milestone in MTN Fintech's efforts to accelerate
financial inclusion and contribute to South Sudan's economic development
agenda. By leveraging digital financial solutions, MTN Fintech aims to increase
access to financial services for the unbanked and underserved populations.
The Chief
Executive Officer of MTN Fintech, Francis Matseketsa expressed his excitement
about the launch, stating, "We are
proud to introduce this innovative solution, which will revolutionize the way
our customers send and receive money across borders. This service demonstrates
our commitment to driving financial inclusion and contributing to the economic
growth of South Sudan."
MTN
South Sudan, the local subsidiary of the MTN Group, is the largest mobile
network operator in Africa, with 288 million subscribers across 18 markets. The
MTN Group's mobile money (MoMo) services have reached 65.5 million monthly
active users in 16 markets, demonstrating the company's leadership in digital
financial solutions.
With the
launch of International Money Remittance, MTN Fintech is poised to further
accelerate financial inclusion and empower customers to enjoy the benefits of a
modern connected life.
