The Regional African
Satellite Communication Organization (RASCOM) and the African Space Agency have
initiated discussions to explore potential collaboration. The meeting, held at
RASCOM's office in Abidjan, aimed to identify areas of cooperation to ensure
seamless satellite operations across the continent.
Dr. Tidian Quattarra,
President of the African Space Agency, paid a working visit to RASCOM, where he
met with the management and staff as part of his familiarization tour. The
meeting provided an opportunity for both organizations to share their expertise
and resources, paving the way for a fruitful partnership.
The Acting
Director-General of RASCOM, Timothy Adi Ashong expressed optimism about the
potential collaboration, stating, "We
believe that by working together, we can harness the power of satellite
communications to bridge the digital gap in Africa and create economic
opportunities for our youth."
Dr. Quattarra in his brief
remarks, noted the importance of leveraging satellite technology to drive
economic growth and empowerment in Africa. "Our
continent has immense potential, and by combining our resources and expertise,
we can achieve great things," he said.
The collaboration between
RASCOM and the African Space Agency is expected to enhance the development of
satellite communications in Africa, promoting economic growth, and empowerment
for the continent's youth population. As the two organizations move forward,
their partnership is poised to make a significant impact on the digital
landscape of Africa.
