A two-day intensive workshop, ‘Empowering Decision Makers: A Comprehensive Journey through Data Analytics’, co-organized by Yadaba Communications and Dataware Tech, concluded successfully in Accra.

Senior executives from leading financial institutions participated in the programme held at the Airport View Hotel on May 7 & 8, 2024 to bolster their data analytics and decision-making capabilities. The workshop addressed the growing need for financial leaders to leverage data-driven insights for strategic planning in the face of rapid digital transformation within the financial sector.

Participants gained the tools and knowledge required to effectively harness data, ensuring their organizations remain competitive and adaptable to evolving market conditions. Each participant also went home with a certificate of participation.

Lead Facilitator, Jeremiah Ishaya, emphasized the critical role of data analytics in today's financial landscape, noting that increased digitalisation has heightened the need for more accurate data analysis.

"For financial institutions, harnessing the power of data for actionable insights is no longer optional. Data analytics, the process of extracting valuable information from vast datasets, is an essential tool. This training empowers participants to leverage data for the greatest advantage of their institutions,” Mr. Ishaya remarked.

He however cautioned about limitations in Ghana's data infrastructure, urging the implementation of proper mechanisms to utilize data-analyzed policies effectively. He stressed the importance of data quality for successful implementation.

Business Intelligence Specialist at Dataware Tech, Nana Kojo Hagan, underscored the importance of data science for operational efficiency. "This training aimed to equip leaders to become data innovators, not just consumers. The participants' active engagement and insightful commentary demonstrate significant progress towards this goal,” Mr. Hagan explained.

The workshop, led by experts, covered a comprehensive range of topics including data analytics fundamentals, advanced predictive modelling techniques, cutting-edge machine learning applications for finance, and hands-on data exploration and preparation.

Interactive workshops provided participants with a valuable opportunity to apply their newfound skills in real-world scenarios. These sessions focused on data-driven improvements in risk management, customer engagement, and operational efficiency. Engaging question-and-answer sessions fostered active participation and knowledge exchange among the participants.

The workshop culminated in a commitment from participants to champion a data-centric culture shift within their organizations. They stated that they had been equipped not only with advanced analytical skills but also with the leadership capabilities to guide their teams towards a data-driven approach to business. "The workshop fostered a commitment from attendees to champion a cultural shift within their organizations,” the facilitators concluded.
