Bosso, Zambia's leading construction e-commerce
platform, has raised $400,000 in pre-seed funding to tackle Africa's
significant housing deficit. The platform, founded in 2022, has quickly become
the largest online marketplace for building materials in Zambia, connecting
over 1000 hardware stores and serving 200 homebuilders across four provinces.
The funding round was led by prominent investors,
including Leonard by Vinci, Launch Africa, Renew Capital, Change-Com, and angel
investors. The capital will enhance Bosso's AI-powered solutions, refine its
product offerings, and expand its services to address inefficiencies in the
construction sector.
Bosso aims to streamline material sourcing, introduce
services like land conveyance, financing options, and connections to reliable
construction companies. The company plans to open its seed round in August 2024
and source materials for over 5000 homes in 2025. Bosso's mission is to make
affordable housing a reality across Southern Africa and eventually the entire
continent, transforming the housing landscape globally.
