The Chairman
of the Board & Co-founder of Telecel Group, Nicolas Bourg, has reaffirmed
the company's commitment to sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint.
Speaking at the Common Good Summit, Bourg outlined Telecel Group's initiatives
aimed at promoting green growth and financial inclusion in developing
countries.
According
to him, Telecel Group is taking a multi-faceted approach to sustainability,
with a focus on solarizing several of its sites to reduce reliance on fossil
fuels. Additionally, the company is launching a green hydrogen project in
Ghana, a pioneering initiative in the region. Through its Africa Startup
Initiative Program, Telecel is also driving financial inclusion, empowering
entrepreneurs and communities to thrive.
Bourg
emphasized the importance of green growth for developing countries, stressing
that sustainable practices are crucial for a brighter future. He was joined on
the panel by Hélène Djoufelkit, Sidy Diop, and Stephane Straub, who shared
insights on the theme "What green growth for developing countries?"
