Kenya Space Expo 2024 off to a flying start

The Kenya Space Expo 2024 (KSEC2024) kicked off on a high note at The Edge Convention Centre in Nairobi, with a prestigious opening ceremony attended by esteemed guests from the defense, space, and technology sectors.

The event was officiated by the Cabinet Secretary for Defense, Hon. Aden Duale, who noted the significance of space technology in enhancing national security and development.

Maj Gen (rtd) James Aruasa, Chairman of the Kenya Space Agency (KSA) Board, also delivered insightful opening remarks, highlighting the agency's achievements and future plans. Brig Hillary Kipkosgey, Ag. Director General of KSA, also addressed the gathering, showcasing the agency's progress in advancing space technology.

Ambassador Philip Thigo delivered a keynote address, stressing the importance of space technology for Kenya's socio-economic growth and development. His remarks set the tone for the three-day expo, which promises to be a hub of innovation, exploration, and exhibitions.

The KSEC2024 is a platform for stakeholders to share ideas, showcase cutting-edge technologies, and foster collaborations that will propel Kenya's space industry forward. Over the next three days, attendees can expect engaging discussions, presentations, and exhibitions that will highlight the vast potential of space technology in transforming various aspects of life in Kenya.
