Nokia and Google Cloud
have expanded their collaboration to empower developers worldwide to create
innovative 5G applications faster. Nokia's Network as Code platform with a
developer portal will now run on Google Cloud, enriching the developer
experience with Google Cloud's data and generative AI solutions.
This collaboration will
enable developers to access standardized 5G network capabilities worldwide,
accelerating the development of software applications that harness 5G and 4G
network capabilities. The platform provides software development kits, network
API documentation, a sandbox for simulation and testing, and code snippets to
build new applications.
The partnership aims to
target industry use cases, starting with healthcare, to deliver better and
safer customer experiences. Nokia's Network as Code platform has already signed
collaboration agreements with 13 network operators and ecosystem partners
across Europe, North America, and South America since its launch in September
2023.
Ankur Jain, Vice
President of Google Distributed Cloud and Global Telco Industry at Google
Cloud, highlighted the potential for value creation in the telecom space
through new applications.
Raghav Sahgal, President
of Cloud and Network Services at Nokia, expressed excitement about enabling Google
Cloud developers to tap into Nokia's network capabilities, creating value for
