MTN
Ghana is set to launch SME Month, a month-long event dedicated to supporting
small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with cutting-edge digital solutions.
This initiative is aimed at driving digital and financial inclusion among SMEs,
recognizing their critical role as a significant driver of economic growth. SME
Month is a vital effort to foster the growth and development of SMEs across the
country.
Speaking
ahead of the launch, Angela Mensah Poku, Chief Enterprise Business Officer for
MTN Business, highlighted the success of the inaugural SME Month held in July
2023. She noted that last year's event provided SMEs with a valuable platform
to showcase their products, network with potential partners and customers, and
learn from industry experts through workshops and seminars.
“We
are organizing this year’s edition to build on the success achieved last year.
Our goal is to engage and support the SME market with new solutions that will
help them scale their businesses,” said Mensah Poku. “We will engage key players in the
informal sector, such as the Market Queens and other trade partners, to share
details on how technology can transform their businesses.”
The
2024 MTN SME Month will kick off on July 3rd at the AMA Car Park, setting the
stage for a dynamic 3-day fair. This fair aims to provide SMEs with a platform
to showcase their products and services, engage with potential customers, and
network with industry peers. The event promises a robust lineup of activities
designed to enhance the visibility and capabilities of participating SMEs.
Throughout
SME Month, MTN Ghana plans to raise awareness of its SME-specific products and
services. This will be achieved by highlighting various offerings, sharing
success stories, and promoting special discounts and tailored incentives.
In
addition to the fair, the month-long event will feature a series of workshops
and seminars led by industry experts. These sessions will cover a wide range of
topics, including digital marketing, financial management, and leveraging
technology for business growth. The objective is to provide SMEs with practical
knowledge and skills to navigate the challenges of the modern business
landscape.
