The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Global Symposium for Regulators
#ITUGSR 2024 conference is underway, bringing together global regulators and
policymakers to share insights on "regulation for impact". From July
1-4, experts will focus on shaping regulations for Artificial Intelligence, the
space economy, and climate change.
On the first day, Mothibi Ramusi, Chairperson of the Independent
Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA), joined the Head of Regulators
session. He shared ICASA's strategies for staying current in a rapidly evolving
ICT landscape.
The ICASA delegation, led by Ramusi and the CEO, actively engaged with
international peers to address the challenges and opportunities presented by
emerging technologies. By exchanging knowledge and best practices, regulators
aim to create effective frameworks that foster innovation while protecting
societal interests.
The #ITUGSR 2024 conference provides a critical platform for global
regulators to collaborate and shape the future of regulation, ensuring it
supports sustainable development and benefits humanity.
