The Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NIGCOMSAT) and
MOMAS-EPAIL have partnered to enhance communication infrastructure and bolster
national security. The two entities signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
at the MOMAS-EPAIL factory in Mowe, Ogun State, marking a significant step
towards strengthening Nigeria’s defense capabilities.
The collaboration aims to leverage NIGCOMSAT’s satellite communication
expertise with MOMAS-EPAIL’s technological prowess to build a robust
communication network. By combining their strengths, the partners seek to
improve data collection, enhance information management, and develop a
knowledge-based system to safeguard the nation’s security infrastructure.
The
Managing Director, NIGCOMSAT Limited, Jane Egerton-Idehen, commended the
Chairman of MOMAS-EPAIL for the remarkable investment the Company has made in
Nigeria towards developing local content in power, defence and other sectors.
She equally lauded MOMAS-EPAIL for being at the forefront of innovation, while
urging other indigenous companies to partner with NIGCOMSAT to move the country
forward through effective server communication network.
Egerton-Idehen
stated that the company is posed towards serving Nigeria through Nigerians,
adding that there is need to protect, create values and
embrace innovation in the defence sector. “NIGCOMSAT is the premier
satellite communication company for Nigeria. So, there is value in
collaborating in helping our defence sector,” she said.
In his remarks, Engr. Kola Balogun, the Chairman,
MOMAS-EPAIL noted that the partnership with NIGCOMSAT will build effective
database, improve on data collection and develop very strong knowledge-based
information that will protect the security network. Balogun said that the
company has grown remarkably in providing armoured vehicles and some
classical operational materials, adding that building energy with NIGCOMSAT
will enhanced group communication infrastructure and also enhance front line
operations
