The Minister of Digital Transition and Digital Reform,
Dr. Ghita Mezzou, has inaugurated the first edition of the Summer University on
Digitization. The event, organized by the Lalla Asma Foundation, the Faculty of
Sciences of Rabat, and the Lions Club, aims to promote academic exchange and
coordination among African countries in the fields of innovation and
digitization.
Under the slogan "Digitization at the service of
Africa," the Summer University brings together experts and students from
across the continent to share knowledge and best practices in digital
transformation.
In her opening speech, Dr. Mezzou praised the
initiative, aligning it with the royal vision of South-South cooperation and
the kingdom's strategic choice to accelerate digitization in African societies.
The minister highlighted her ministry's programs and
workshops aimed at promoting digital majors in Moroccan universities, in
partnership with institutional partners. These initiatives contribute to
developing the digital economy, enhancing national competitiveness, and
creating job opportunities for youth. Dr. Mezzou emphasized the importance of
human competencies as the primary driver of digital transformation, urging the
need to keep pace with and encourage talent in this field.
The Summer University on Digitization is a significant
step towards fostering collaboration and innovation in Africa's digital
landscape. With Morocco at the forefront, this initiative paves the way for a
more connected and prosperous continent.
