The
Ministry of Innovation and Technology has signed a Memorandum of Understanding
(MoU) with the African Academy of Leadership Excellence to develop competent
leadership in the fields of science, technology, and innovation.
The
MoU, signed by Minister of Innovation and Technology Dr. Beleta Molla and
President of the African Academy of Leadership Excellence Mr. Zadig Abraham,
aims to create a culture of science, technology, and innovation in Ethiopia,
empowering human resource management to drive the country's transformation.
Dr.
Beleta Molla noted the importance of developing a culture of science,
technology, and innovation to achieve short-term goals and expand Ethiopia's
agriculture-based economy. According to him, relying on a single sector for
economic growth has limited impact, and the government is working to diversify
the economy.
Mr.
Zadig Abraha in his remark also stressed the need for competent leaders who can
respond to people's demands through innovation, conducting research and
training on global issues. He highlighted the importance of leadership
development for successful national and institutional building.
The
partnership aims to build sustainable prosperity in Ethiopia and Africa by
developing leaders who can drive innovation and respond to the needs of their
people. The government is committed to strengthening its partnership with the
African Academy of Leadership Excellence to achieve this goal.
