The Co-Founder and CEO of InstaDeep, Karim Beguir has delivered a keynote speech at Tunisia's Global Forum, announcing "Project Tatooine," an ambitious initiative aimed at empowering 10,000 students with digital and AI skills in priority development areas.
This
personal initiative, in partnership with edtech startup GOMYCODE and supported
by influential Tunisians, including Beguir's Co-Founder Zohra Slim, seeks to
bridge the digital divide and drive economic prosperity.
Sharing
some thoughts on his linkedIn social media platform, Beguir noted the
importance of teaching young people to master AI tools, citing the rapid
development of agent capabilities and the need for future generations to
harness these technologies to build a better future. He praised GOMYCODE's
innovative approach to education and their commitment to revolutionizing
learning in Africa.
The
project builds on a successful pilot program in Tataouine, where individual
donors funded 100 students to access classes at a new GOMYCODE center with an
80% discount. This initiative created a wave of enthusiasm for learning and
digital skills, generating jobs and inspiring the expansion of the program to
20 digital schools across Tunisia's priority development areas.
To
date, 2 million dinars in funding have been raised from personal donors, with
an additional 1 million dinars needed to achieve the project's goals. He then
called on influential members of the Diaspora to join the initiative,
emphasizing the importance of creating a culture of abundance and a virtuous
cycle of entrepreneurial success.
"Project
Tatooine" has the potential to shape Tunisia's future, establishing the
country as a hub for digital innovation and entrepreneurship.
