The GSMA
Sub-Saharan Africa team has recently conducted a series of engagements in
Ethiopia, meeting with key stakeholders to discuss strategies for driving
digital transformation in the country. The team, led by Kamal Tamawa, held a
spectrum workshop with the Ethiopia Communication Authority, ethio telecom, the

of Finance.
The
workshop focused on licensing, pricing, and 5G deployment strategies, with the
goal of identifying opportunities to enhance the country's digital landscape.
Additionally, Caroline Mbugua, HSC, delivered a workshop on the Universal
Service Fund, exploring connectivity challenges and strategies for rural areas.
Ethiopia
is one of the countries selected by the GSMA to undertake a study on
digitalization, and the organization is committed to working closely with
relevant stakeholders to drive digital transformation. By engaging with key
stakeholders and sharing expertise, the GSMA aims to support Ethiopia's efforts
to develop a vibrant digital economy and improve connectivity for its citizens.
These
workshops demonstrate the GSMA's commitment to collaboration and
knowledge-sharing, and highlight the importance of working together to achieve
digital transformation in Sub-Saharan Africa. By leveraging global expertise
