The
Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority (BOCRA) has officially launched
its 2024-2029 Strategic Plan, outlining a vision for a sustainable and
inclusive digital ecosystem in Botswana. The launch event was attended by
industry stakeholders, including the Ministry of Communications, Knowledge
& Technology, and was officiated by the Honorable Thulagano Merafe Segokgo,
MP, Minister of Communications, Knowledge, and Technology.
The
strategic plan is built on three core principles: environmental sustainability,
inclusive digital empowerment, and trusted corporate leadership. BOCRA aims to
promote a digital ecosystem that is not only innovative and efficient but also
environmentally sustainable and socially responsible.
The
plan seeks to empower citizens by bridging the digital divide and ensuring that
all Botswana residents have access to reliable and affordable digital services.
It also emphasizes the importance of trusted corporate leadership, with BOCRA
committed to serving with integrity and transparency.
By
launching this strategic plan, BOCRA is taking a significant step towards
shaping the future of Botswana's digital landscape. The plan's focus on
sustainability, inclusivity, and trusted leadership positions BOCRA as a
forward-thinking regulator, committed to driving growth and development in the
country's communications sector.
