The Chief Executive Officer of Smart Africa, Lacina Koné, has reiterated the importance of government entrepreneurship enablement at the ALU Public Sector Symposium 2024. According to him any country's economy must be driven by the private sector, with the government creating an enabling environment.

He also indicated that government entrepreneurship enablement is crucial, and it involves providing various enablers such as hubs, funding, coaching, and proper infrastructure. These enablers are essential for entrepreneurs to thrive and contribute to the economy.

Mr. Koné's statement indicates the need for governments to shift their focus from being the primary drivers of economic growth to becoming facilitators of private sector-led growth. By providing the necessary support and infrastructure, governments can empower entrepreneurs to innovate, create jobs, and drive economic development.

Smart Africa, an organization that aims to accelerate Africa's digital transformation, is at the forefront of promoting government entrepreneurship enablement. Through its various initiatives, Smart Africa is working to create an enabling environment for entrepreneurs across the continent.

By working together, governments and private sector stakeholders can create an ecosystem that supports entrepreneurship and innovation, leading to sustainable economic growth and prosperity.
