Microsoft
Garage, East Africa has opened its doors to welcome students from two schools,
Matuga Girls High School and Ontulili Boys High School, for an inspiring day of
exploration and learning.
The Garage
last week Friday hosted 35 students from Matuga Girls High School in the
morning, providing a tour of its maker space and inspiring the girls to pursue
careers in technology. Microsoft volunteers shared their personal journeys,
emphasizing the importance of bridging the gender gap in IT.
Later
in the afternoon it again hosted 55 students from Ontulili Boys High
School accompanied by their dedicated computer science teacher, Mr. Eric
Munene. The boys demonstrated impressive expertise and projects, including two
students who had already built websites.
As
Lydiah Karanja, Microsoft Garage Lead - East Africa, noted on her linkedIn
social media platform, "At The Garage, we strive to empower every
student to achieve more."
