The
Pan-African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS) Deputy CEO, John Bosco Sebabi
has attended the African Caucus meeting in Abuja, Nigeria, where he stressed
the need for a robust Pan-African payment ecosystem to facilitate intra-African
trade and sustainable development.
The
meeting, held from August 1st to 3rd, brought together key stakeholders to
discuss ways to empower Africa's economic growth through digitalization and
payment infrastructure development.
The
adoption of PAPSS, supported by Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs), is seen
as crucial in bolstering Africa's payment infrastructure and digital platforms.
This initiative aims to create a more connected and prosperous future for
African nations, enabling them to participate fully in the global economy.
The
timely adoption of PAPSS, according to Mr. Sebabi is not only essential for Africa's economic prosperity but also an opportunity to create a unified payment ecosystem that drives sustainable
development and economic growth.
