Vodacom Group CTO Dejan Kastelic visits Kenya

Vodacom Group's Chief Technology Officer, Dejan Kastelic has paid a working visit to Kenya. As part of his visit, he was the guest of honor at a special staff townhall hosted by Sitoyo Lopokoiyit MBS, Managing Director, and Vinod Sharma, Chief Technology Officer of the Kenyan operations.

During the townhall, Dejan Kastelic shared valuable leadership insights, focusing on the evolution of M-PESA from a financial service to a comprehensive lifestyle platform. He highlighted the transformative opportunities this evolution presents for customers across Africa, emphasizing the role of innovation in enhancing customer experiences and driving financial inclusion.


Kastelic also took the opportunity to discuss his own career journey, sharing his experiences in the ever-evolving field of technology. He reflected on the rapid advancements in smartphones, artificial intelligence (AI), and 5G technology, and how these innovations are set to shape the future of the African continent.


In his address, Dejan Kastelic underlined three key pillars of organizational success: strategy, execution, and leadership. He emphasized the importance of aligning these pillars to ensure sustained growth and competitiveness. Moreover, he stressed that leaders should prioritize team motivation and foster a culture of collaboration to drive success.


The visit by Vodacom Group’s CTO not only provided the Kenyan team with valuable insights into the future of technology but also reinforced the strong partnership and shared vision between Vodacom and its Kenyan counterparts.
