Managing
Director of Africa at Google, Alex Okosi, has paid a heartfelt tribute to the
late Susan Wojcicki, former CEO of YouTube. Okosi remembered Wojcicki as a
visionary leader who believed in the potential of technology to transform
Africa.
In a
recent post, Okosi recalled the unwavering support and inspiration he received
from Wojcicki during his time as Managing Director, Emerging Markets, YouTube
EMEA. He cherished their discussions about the future of Africa and the role of
YouTube and Google in shaping it.
Mr. Okosi
hailed Wojcicki as a champion of YouTube's mission to give everyone a voice and
show them the world. He pledged to honor her legacy by continuing to drive
innovation and empower communities across Africa.
Susan
Wojcicki's died Saturday following a two-year battle with lung cancer. She was
56.
Before
becoming CEO of YouTube in 2014, Wojcicki was senior vice president for ad
products at Google.
